November Morning Work for First Grade
Hey, y'all! Are you looking for a way to start the day off strong, review skills taught in first grade, and assess your first graders' understanding of concepts? Morning work could be your answer. We do morning work nearly every day and it has been a game-changer for us.
As the kids finish breakfast and come into the classroom, they get started on their morning work. They have authentic, academic conversations from the moment they sit down in the classroom.
When they finish (or when time is up), we go over our work together as a class. Students write in pencil initially, then make corrections with colored pencils. This helps me see what they need help on, and who needs reminders to stay focused and get stuff done.
November's morning work covers vowels, syllables, articles "a" and "an," correcting sentences, handwriting, addition and subtraction, number bonds, adding three numbers, base ten numbers, fact families, comparing numbers, even and odd, shapes, time, and measurement.
There are 25 days worth of morning work pages. Since we typically have less than 25 school days in November, there are plenty of options to choose from. Just go with the skills you want your firsties to practice.
If you're like me and want consistency for your students, save some money and grab the year-long morning work bundle here.
