Back to School Vocabulary Write the Room Activities

Hey, y'all. Some of our favorite activities throughout the school year are write the rooms. We use them in reading, math, science, social studies, and even in writing. The kids love getting up out of their seats and wandering the room with a purpose. 

That's why we use them for everything. These back to school sets are designed to help our students with vocabulary and writing. Our ESL students especially need the pictures and words to help them build their vocabulary and confidence in speaking and writing. 

Students simply find a card, then write the word next to the matching picture on their recording sheet. These make great literacy centers, activities for fast finishers, or a springboard into your next thematic unit. 

We use several of these at the beginning of the year in order to build routines and independence with write the rooms. Just added to my TPT store are sets for back to school, fall, apples, and pumpkins. And they're part of a bigger bundle that will last you all school year long.
