Editable Sight Word Sentences
Hey, y'all! So I was looking for an engaging way to practice sight words with my first graders this year... They really love the pocket chart center and doing puzzles so I thought I'd try out scrambled sight word sentences. And guess what. They loved them!
Now, I know you know how much young children love to see their names in print, so I took it up a notch and made this center editable so student names can be used in each of the sentences!
There are 23 different sentences (with space for 24 student names). Most of the words come from Fry's first 100 sight words and the rest are student names, CVC words, or picture supported words. Each sentence has the same picture on each of its' cards to make them easy to keep track of and sort.
To use this center in your class, just type in student names, print, and go. I like to laminate for durability but it's up to you. These are designed to fit into a pocket chart, but they can also be used in a sensory bin or on their own.
You can grab a copy of this center in my TPT store here. While you're there, be sure to follow me so you don't miss any new resources, ideas, or freebies. I'm always adding new things and you don't want to miss it!
I hope these centers are something you can use in your classroom, too. Have a wonderful week and I'll talk to you soon.
Stay cozy,
